Samsung Zeal with E Ink keypad mysteriously shows up on Verizon handset list

Verizon is getting all the good stuff, from a dedicated iPhone 4 model toSamsung’s new Continuum Android mobile and now another new Samsung device with a pretty decent cool factor hits their list. So far the news about this handset called the Zeal is a leak and not yet official. While it looks like a standard clamshell handset it’s not as conventional as it may appear. Firstly, in addition to the external display with touch sensitive keys for the music player (similar to the moo RAZER), it flips open sideways as well as upward (standard) thanks to its dual-hinge design. Second, it has an E Ink keypad that can switch between QWERTY to alphanumeric depending on how the handsets display is opened. Other features include a 2.6-inch QVGA screen, a 2 MP shooter and although the image hints of an Android OS, that is yet to be confirmed. It’s also expected to launch by November 11th but that’s not concrete either so forget about pricing as well for the time being, although from the looks of it, it seems like it could be quite affordable.

The Samsung Continuum

Samsung’s much awaited Continuum Android mobile handset has finally made it to the surface in an official capacity at a recent event the company held in New York. Verizon has already scooped up the new smartphone. So far we know that the Continuum is going to be running on Android 2.1, but don’t get annoyed as 2.2 + is fully supported since the device is pretty much a variant in terms of looks and a few features here and there, to the now famous Galaxy S. The Continuum has a little 1.8-inch ticker-like display (480 x 96 pixels) display below the Android touch sensitive keys that shows you updates like messages, missed calls etc. Sort of like the Status Bar only at the bottom. Capacitive sensors placed at the bottom of either side will activate the display and Samsung is calling this technology "grip sensor".

iPod Nano watch looks and feels better

We've seen the iPod Nano turn into a wristwatch and that looked quite simple and basic. Now we are introduced to the new silicone bands from Hex which uses Nano's potential like never before. You can now sit your iPods securely into the face without any hassle or worry. It features integrated control buttons and it comes in 9 different colors. The colors vary from subtle to funky, so there is something for everyone. If you want to be bold, go for the yellow or orange and for something more mellow, try the white or grey. These bands look like a lot of fun.

Motorola Quench XT3 Smartphone Available Online In India, Official Launch To Be Announced Soon

The Motorola Quench XT3 smartphone is available in India online, it is also reported that they may have an official launch of this phone very soon. The phone is available for sale on flipkart.com. This is the fourth android phone by Motorola to hit the Indian markets.
This phone is said to be very economically priced in India, it costs only Rs. 12,500 and indeed this is a very fairly priced phone for the Indian market point of view. The phone comes with 3.2 inch touch screen which is big enough for this phone and it also has a 3 mega pixel camera with a LED flash.
Exciting feature about this phone is it has a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz Processor inside it and a 256 MB RAM to run the phone smoothly. But the only drawback in this phone is, it runs on an Android 1.6, which is a pretty old operating system compared to the latest Android 2.2 FroYo available in the market.

Hanvon to be first with color E Ink reader, sizes it at 10 inches, makes it a touchscreen

While Amazon and Sony are still hemming and hawing about taking their ebook-reading adventure into the color E Ink realm, China's Hanvon is plunging straight in. The New York Times is reporting that the company intends to grace this year's FPD International trade show with the news that a 10-inch touchscreen e-reader, equipped with the first color-displaying panels from E Ink Holdings, will be arriving in the Chinese market in March. That's a little later than the originally promised "by the end of 2010," but it's not like anyone else is beating Hanvon to the market. Pricing in China is expected at around $440, and though there are no plans to bring it Stateside just yet, we imagine Hanvon would do so quite willingly if it can reach the volume necessary to offer up a more palatable price. And we'd be very happy if it does, the Nook Color's been looking a little lonely in the color ebook reader room.
