Acer’s on a roll, new 7 and 10 inch tablets scheduled for 2011 launch

It was just a little while ago, I mean earlier today that we got wind of Acer bring us a mysterious but pretty slick looking Tablet or Mobile phone (haven’t quite decided yet what it is) and now we hear that the company is planning on brining down a full scale Tablet PC assault on the globe come 2011. They just showed off a couple of devices; one 7-inch and another 10.1-inch touchscreen device running on Google’s Android platform. Hardware specs revealed that these devices would be equipped with a dual-core (1GHz or 1.2GHz) processor, HDMI output, 5-megapixel camera and front-facing "HD" camera for video calling and Wi-Fi with DLNA support and 3G connectivity options. The display resolution is said to be 1200 x 800 pixels and the word is that 1080p HD videos can be played and shared on these devices. I’m salivating. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait for quite awhile as these devices might make it out with the other smaller mobile phone offering which is expected in April 2011. Price is still a mystery.

Eizo's DuraVision LCD does glasses-free 3D at 1080p, is totally bezelriffic

Looking like something that escaped from the bridge of the U.S.S. Palomino is Eizo's DuraVision FDF2301-3D, a dark, menacing visage containing a 23-inch LCD. It sports a full HD resolution and can display content in 3D, but its real trick is that it can do so without glasses. Yes, deep within that dark and angular exterior is the necessary set of hardware to ensure that two eyes see two separate images, supposedly without any of the weirdness we've seen with other glasses-free displays. The penalty is of course its imposing bulk and what will surely be an imposing price. No cost has been set, but indications are that it will cost many thousands of dollars -- not that it'll ever hit retail.

Nokia X7-00 splashes NFS color

Nokia are cooking up something good for all of us. The phone you see here may well be the X7-00 that’s not yet announced, officially. It may not be the most beautiful phones that the Finnish giants have come up with but it definitely shows off the Symbian platform that currently powers up the N8, packs an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and an awesome 4-inch screen. Now, the latter spec fits in perfectly well for the Need For Speed game to be played. What’s more surprising is that the game runs smoother than scotch whiskey.

iPad 2 may have 5 'new' features

For all of us heartbroken Apple lovers who are only seeing traces of the iPad, here's a letter in a bottle, and it's sailed all the way from China. A tabloid in the Eastern land reported some cool, new features for the iPad 2 that may seem unheard of in the iPad till now. 1. Video phone. So we have a front facing camera at last. Poof! competition. 2. New Axis Technology. Which could strike a hint at awesome new displays that are slimmer and lighter. 3. 3-axis gyroscope. Which comes with the iPhone 44. Better mobility. For a lighter' truly portable device. 5. USB. Now isn't this something we've all been begging for?
