Toyota to launch FT-86 at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show

With the launch of the FT-86 at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show just around the corner, Toyota has released the first look of the car with the official announcement specifications. From the looks of it, this one sticks to the sportier side of automobile design with a two-door setup. To be termed the Toyota GT 86 in Europe and simply, the 86 in Japan, the car will come with a 2.0-liter boxer with D4-S injection, 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions, 197 hp @ 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) @6,600 rpm. Motorola Atrix 2, the next logical step after Atrix 4G

The all new Motorola Atrix 2 has been recently launched by AT&T for just $99.00 along with their service contracts. It is an Android powered phone(Gingerbread), very much like its previous version, the Atrix 4G. The $99.00 pricing suggests that this device is created for basic smartphone utilities, rater than as a high end device. The Atrix 2 has more of a businesslike demeanor, as it has nothing too flashy about it. However, there are a few changes made from the original Atrix to give it an elegant look. The screen size is 4.3 inches which is considerably bigger than the new iPhone 4. The front part is made of complete glass that edges all around the corners. Unlike the popular bright chrome sides that we see on most of the phones these days, the sides of this phone have a dark, silvery metal rim. The parts don’t appear to be expensive but that is quite understandable according to the pricing of the phone. It is more businesslike than glamorous. The front side button layouts of the Motorola Atrix 2 are very much like its original version. You can see the Home, Menu, Search and back buttons nicely placed to accommodate easy finger movements. On the top right corner you can see the status indicator light. It glows whenever there are any pending status notifications that require your attention. If you are switching over from the BlackBerry, you will find this feature quite useful. The ear peace is metallic with grilled protection, and it is nicely positioned next to the front-facing VGA camera. The rear panel is made of black plastic with matte finish. It has the soft texture that is thoughtfully designed to give a better grip while pulling out the phone from the pockets. The 8 MP camera is quite on par with better phones in the smartphone segment. The LED flash above the camera is helpful for clicking photos under poor lighting conditions. Below the camera you will find a single speaker. However, the grill over the speaker is pushed inside unlike the original version, which could significantly reduce the speaker volume, especially if your phone is placed on some soft surface. If you compare Motorola Atrix 2 to the previous versions, you will see that the company has gotten rid of the power button with fingerprint scanner combination that used to be positioned on the top. They have replaced it with a simple power button, close to the jack for inserting the headphone. This is probably a reasonable change considering that the fingerprint button did not gain much popularity among the users. You might however miss it if you had grown used to that feature. The HDMI and the USB ports are positioned in the same place as on Atrix 4G phone. However, their positions have been swapped to give more compatibility to the Lapdock 100. The positioning of volume buttons makes them rather difficult for the users, but they should not have much problem once they get used to it. This phone has the exclusive button for camera on the side too. Overall, it is a pretty decent phone, but it does not specifically have the appearance of a high end device. The features are well worth the pricing of just $99.00.

Fujitsu Arrows F-07D is now the world’s thinnest Smartphone that will tessellate your pockets

Many devices have been competing to become the world’s thinnest device ever. There has however been very little competition to the Motorolla Droid Razer up till now. But recently the Fujitsu Arrows F-07D has emerged as the secretive winner. The Smartphone is now entitled as the worlds thinnest Android handset that measures a minimal of 6.7mm. Fujitsu has emerged as a clear winner with flying colours. It is one the thinnest of all in the line. A whooping 0.26 inches is what makes the device so desirable. The Japanese however were not very happy with the claims set forth by Razer. The F-07D too has some bulging points at its side. The device has the 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snap Dragon processor that equips the device very well. The device ships the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS that lets you work very well with the applications and powers the device to the fullest. Along with this, there is 1GB of internal memory space and a 512 MB RAM giving you ample to cherish for. The body is a waterproof one that features an OLED screen with resolution is 480 x 854p and it will definitely get you on the run with the videos and playback. Along with being a waterproof device, the screen is fully protected by the Gorilla Glass. The device is not only thin to look at. As said very well, big things come in small packages. The shooter of the Smarty is embedded on the rear. It is a whooping 5MP camera that will get you in the fun mood always. The handset also has the HDMI and the microUSB ports to connect well with the others. Having all this information, the price part is still unknown. This will however be revealed soon to the inquisitive users. The price will certainly not fall in the range of Razer but might be somewhere in the mid range. The handset will definitely please the Japanese obsessed users who have committed themselves to use those products. For the others too it will act as a complete set of entertainment and the privilege of having the thinnest device in the world to ones possession.

Sleek And Deadly: The Paraglider Tricycle Concept

Uh, it might be better to scratch that ‘deadly’ part from the title because it’s not like this vehicle fires missiles. There’s a better chance it kills people’s misgivings with sheer awesome than actually, well, kill people. But the contours and form are quite cutting edge, which reflects well on its designer, this Serbian fellow named Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Keep in mind that no matter how good this paragliding ride looks, the key word here is ‘concept,’ meaning its chances of ever entering production are close to nil. Despite this sobering truth, it’s obvious a good amount of engineering smarts went into the design. Zvezdan currently maintains a profile featuring his best work, which is broad and eclectic. The paraglider concept of his, however, is the most hardcore when it comes to balancing smart aesthetics with credible inventiveness. As concepts go, this paraglider won’t be seen anywhere soon.

Sony Tablet P available online, the P is short for pricey

Sony's second avant-garde tablet a la Android, the Tablet P, has finally made its high-fashioned self available online in the UK. The 3G-capable model has been slapped with a hefty £500 ($774) price tag, possibly explained in part by the pair of 5.5-inch touchscreens, which both tap into the same TruBlack technology used in Sony's Bravia TV range. The dual screen setup means that controls can be split to the lower half -- ideal for PlayStation-certified gaming or the occassional email barrage. If curiously curved clam shapes are doing it for you, offer up your pound sterling at the source link below.

Motorola XT615 rocks a single-core 800MHz processor, Gingerbread

Motorola unveiled a new device for the Far East region, or so we think. The name of the phone is Motorola XT615 and it will first be available in Taiwan through Taiwan Mobile starting mid-December. We’re talking about a solid mid-range device with specs that include an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, 4-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera with flash on the back, VGA front-facing camera, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, memory expansion slot, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. Size wise, the XT615 measures 117.7×60.5×9.85 mm and weighs 123.6 grams. It will be available for 10,900 Taiwanese dollars, which translates into about $360. Of course, that’s the off-contract price, with no strings attached.

Cisco teams up with Telia to set off an internet speed of 120GBPS

Ever wondered what 120GBPS Internet speed can do for you? the math is simple. You could download as much as ‘6’ 1080p movies in less than a few seconds. It isn’t as unrealistic as it sounds for Ciso and Telia have patnered to dole out the 120GBPS target by the end of this weekend. It is a part of this week’s DreamHack ‘digital festival’ which is better known as the world’s largest LAN party. The two companies are putting in efforts to set up a 300 kilometer-long internet connection from Jönköping to Stockholm which will serve an assessed 750,000 people at tremendous speeds. the project has been in the pipeline since last summer with Telia taking care of fiber network assembly whereas Cisco took up the baton of supervising hardware tasks with a duo of power-packed CRS-3 routers. This makes me reckon that how much time we’ll actually have to wait until a speed of this sort becomes an industry standard.

Although the tech market has now a wide range of tablets with the Android operating system, Zipy is trying to extend the catalog of available products with its new MID tablets: A category that is a middle point between the most powerful tablets and multimedia players. And while they are not the most advanced tablets, they are good options for those people who are looking for an affordable option. Also, they come with an ARM 926EJC processor, 4GB of internal storage that can be extended by using microSD cards (up to 16GB), WiFi, microUSB port, 12 hours of battery life, and a stylus that is called Smart Pen. The tablets are compatible with a wide range of formats, including video, audio, images, and ebooks. Microsoft Kinect Enabled TVs In The Works

We have been hearing a number of rumors that we may see the first Apple TV next year, and Google is working with a number of manufacturers to bring more Google TV enabled devices to market. Now it would appear that Microsoft is in discussion with TV manufacturers, and they are planning to license the Kinect technology to companies like Sony and Vizio, which would mean HDTV’s with Microsoft’s Kinect built in. According to a recent report by The Daily, the Kinect enabled TVs would be able to recognize specific users, and then change the setting to that user in line with their viewing habits. It certainly sounds very interesting, and we suspect with all the companies racing to bring more functions to TV sets, things are going to get a lot more exciting over the next few years.

So you can still expect a hefty price tag to be attached to them.

Modular USB flash drive concept offers a new way to sort your data

USB drives may come in all shapes and sizes these days, but they all basically give you one of two choices: you can buy one big drive to store as much of your data as possible, or juggle a bunch of drives if you want to keep things separate. Designer Hyunsoo Song has proposed an alternative with this so-called Amoeba modular USB flash drive, however, which let you sort your data on individual drives that can be used both on their own or together as one large drive. The idea there being that you can keep the drives together most of the time, and just detach the appropriate section if you want to share only your photos or videos with someone. Of course, the keyword here is "concept," but it's not exactly as far beyond the realm of possibility as some others we've seen.

PRADA phone by LG 3.0 announced

PRADA and LG Electronics today announced the renewal of their exclusive mobile phone partnership in Seoul, Korea; and mentioned that there is a new phone in the works. LG’s PRADA phones created quite a splash when they were released quite a few years ago and after Motorola’s recent come back with the RAZR it looks like LG hopes to capitalize on the PRADA name as well. The next phone which will be called the PRADA phone by LG 3.0 is nothing like the Prada K2 which was revealed back in August. Firstly – it features no capacitive buttons, which could be an indication of what operating system it will be running on (hint: a tasty dessert). Other than that, no other hints have been revealed about the phone. The PRADA phone by LG 3.0 is slated for an early 2012 release. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted. How many of you used an LG PRADA phone back in the day?

At a later date it will also incorporate Google Street View images. A WLAN hotspot connects mobile devices on board to the internet. All bar the 185PS unit will have their impressive efficiency further enhanced by an engine start-stop system. 5 Inch Lenovo Android Tablet Leaked

It looks like Lenovo is working on a new Android tablet, according to a recent report by Engadget, the Android device will feature a 5 inch touchscreen display, and will probably be called the IdeaTab. There really isn’t very much information about the specifications on this new Android tablet, but we do know that it will come with HDMI out, a micro USB port and a front facing camera.

iPad 3 to be Thicker With Higher Res Screen, Landing March 2012?

More Apple iPad rumors are swirling. The latest rumor claims that the iPad 3 will be landing in March of 2012. That isn’t too far off from now. I think that date is too early for an iPad 3 to come. I expect it closer to summer or early Fall as is usual for Apple launches. The source of the rumor claims that the new iPad will be 0.7mm thicker than the existing one thanks to the need for a twin bar light system. That light system has been rumored in the past so I can see that rumor as accurate. Previous rumors have claimed that the screens are already in production. I would expect the next iPad resolution to be pretty impressive. What are you expecting to see on the iPad 3?

Mimo Magic Touch adds 10 inches of capacitive touchscreen to your PC using only USB

We've seen monitors with touch input and displays powered only by USB, but combining both those features into a single unit would make for something truly unique. We've gotta hand it to Mimo Monitors for pulling it off -- the Magic Touch and Magic Touch Deluxe deliver 10.1 inches of capacitive interactivity using only a single USB 2.0 cable. The panel itself offers a resolution of 1024 x 600 for keeping video chats out of your way, displaying email or monitoring social networks. The Deluxe version also adds a two-port USB hub but, if you plan to charge your devices through it, you'll have to hook up the optional AC adapter. Sadly, while they can act as a secondary monitor regardless of OS, you'll need a Windows 7 machine to take advantage of the touch capabilities -- and even then it's single touch only (though, the panel itself is technically capable of four-point multitouch). Both models are available to pre-order now for $300 (Magic Touch) or $330 (Magic Touch Deluxe) with delivery expected before Christmas. Check out the complete PR after the break.

Latest Radial Engine Bike Concept by Giles McWilliam

Here I want to share a cool Radial engine bike concept and this is not a first or last Radial engine bike, but I liked its look. Now it is just a sketch on the board. The Giles McWillian is the person behind this concept bike, which combines futuristic elements and simple architecture and stuff with Spartan. The first thing like in it is the look because it is different. I think it is not an aerodynamic, as it needs various body parts like windshield or back and front wings. But the Radial engine motorcycle back portion is the one which really caught my eye. And the most important thing is it is a Radial engine bike. If you are not familiar with this type of concept, this type of engine concept is exclusive with the fact the cylinder point outer from the middle crankshaft, you must see in the bike image. In radial engine generally to thrust aircrafts, to getting more power and trust, before invented the jet engines. They were putting this kind of engine in bike is might be close to suicide, if any inexperienced pilot ride it. And I know this motorcycle concept is just for good looking, but the engine technology has already been applied on motorcycles mostly on custom manufacture choppers like Jesse James creation or JRL Cycles Radial Chopper.

Amazon’s 8.9″ Kindle Fire could come in Q2 2012

Amazon released their brand new 7” Kindle Fire tablet not too long ago, and we know that Amazon has more tablets in the works (and a smartphone too if the rumors are to be believed). These upcoming tablets will be larger than 7” and are supposedly in the 8.9” and 10.1” variety. A recent report by Digitimes has revealed that if you were looking forward to a larger Kindle Fire tablet, we can expect the 8.9” version to ship come Q2 of 2012. Foxconn is expected to be the company behind the manufacturer for Amazon’s 8.9” tablet, as opposed to Quanta who was responsible for the original Kindle Fire (and RIM’s Blackberry Playbook). The release of the 8.9” tablet in Q2 of 2012 also seems to contradict earlier rumors that Amazon would release the 10.1” Kindle Fire first, which was meant to be the successor to the 7” model. Apart from that, no further details surrounding the tablet was mentioned. If you’re looking for a tablet whose size is in the happy middle, perhaps the 8.9” Kindle Fire could be something worth considering.

Enter the Harry Potter 3D Experience Movie Pack PS3 bundle from Sony, and as the name suggests, you can be sure that there will be plenty of Harry Potter goodies connected with it, right from the moment you unbox your brand new console. Now, Sony does not take the road that Nintendo travels so often, by offering the console itself with Harry Potter decals or design on it, but rather, you will get a plain, black 160GB PS3 console inside. What makes this bundle qualify to be called the Harry Potter 3D experience? Well, you will need to read on after the jump to find out then. In order to coincide with the recent launch of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 on Blu-ray, the Harry Potter 3D Experience Movie Pack PS3 bundle will also come with a copy of the movie as mentioned, in Blu-ray format, no less. Other than that, you will also receive a voucher that lets you download Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, back when the actors and actresses in their had yet to hit puberty. Another bonus thrown into the mix would be a free 30 day trial for PlayStation Plus, opening up a whole new doorway to access free PSN games, great discounts, and exclusive content. Velocomp presents the iBike Workout

We have written about a lot of bike related things for the iDevice like the Wahoo Fitness Bike Pack. Velocomp, a sports tech company that has created of the iBike Dash cycling computer, has recently unveiled the iBike Workout. The iBike Workout is a simple dongle designed to fit in the 32-pin connector for the iPad, and it is quite simple to download the iBike application. This allows the iPad to be used for indoor cycling training with ANT + sensors. The iPad user can select from over 40 different power and HR workouts, and you can achieve “maximum fitness”. Man, if only I can use this with the FitDesk that I just wrote about in the last post. In all honesty, I have not seen a lot of bike related applications for the iPad, mostly for the iPhone. I suppose that it is a matter of time before someone makes the ultimate iPad app for a bike. Perhaps this particular iBike app is going to be the one. I don’t have any information about where to purchase this product as yet, as the iBike site doesn’t seem to have it listed as a product as yet. I do have a price, as it costs about $69.95.

Computer chip does the human brain tango

Hmmm, it seems that computers are slowly making progress in terms of matching the way our brains work – and the keyword here is “plasticity”. Yes sir, this term could very well be the key that enables the grey matter within our skill to learn, change and adapt through our experiences and observations. According to researchers over at MIT, they believe that they managed to have a quantum leap in replicating how the brain works – in the silicon format, of course, and that will naturally involve computers. Instead of a digital processor, MIT decided to make the creative jump by making a chip which is analog in nature. The reason behind this? Cells’ behavior in the brain make them difficult to mimic in terms of binary (ones and zeroes), so an analog processor would be far more suitable. Check out what the team at MIT has to say about their effort after the jump.

Turkish firm hooks on 10-inch tablet to 65-inch touch-enabled LCD for big-screen Honeycomb experience

Are those 10inches of joy too small for you? Well, you could probably follow in the footsteps of this Turkish company based in Istanbul. The company Ardic managed to hook on a 10-inch Android Honeycomb-based tablet to power a 65-inch LCD with 1080p support for basic gestures, enabling you to pinch and zoom. Currently, the LCD screen sports just two touch sensors, though the near future should see the unveiling of one with a set of four sensors. The tablet itself is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC with 1 GB RAM, 16GB of flash memory, dual cameras, HDMI, USB, microSD and 3G and WiFi connectivity with a dock connecting it all to the OEM TV. Termed as the world’s biggest Android “tablet”, you could optionally buy one of those Google TV-enabled television sets by Sony if an extremely smart TVs all you’re looking for!

QNX-based BlackBerry 'London' purportedly shown off, dummy unit-style

If the above image is to be trusted, what you spy with your little eye may be the very first BlackBerry smartphone to sport RIM's QNX-based operating system, known more recently as BBX. With bold angular lines that smack heavily of the P'9981, this touchscreen slab (code-named "London") is said to be thinner than the iPhone 4 and will dutifully stand tall when placed on its side. Before you get too excited, however, keep in mind that the above image could very well be a concept, prototype -- or, even a masterful forgery. For what it's worth, The Verge was informed that this model is merely a dummy unit, although the actual device is alleged to contain a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. An 8-megapixel rear camera is also said to be in the mix, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and a June 2012 release date. Sure, it's easy to be excited about Waterloo's forthcoming wares, but sadly we're forced to take this one with a heapin' spoonful of skepticism
