iPhone 4S rumors and leaks were floating around for quite some time before the actual launch but none of them suggested if it would be available in an unlocked contract-free options like the iPhone 4 has been in the past several months. But Apple Canada has its iPhone 4S dedicated webpage pricing the unlocked model at $649 for the 16GB version whereas 32GB and 64GB were tagged at $749 and $849. That is a good $450-$500 price gap between the unlocked and on-contract versions. AT&T, Verizon and Sprint will be selling iPhone 4S from October 14 we don’t know if the unlocked version will go for sale in American markets anytime sooner.
